Mentorship project in Kherson

Since March 2013, a team of concerned staff from two organizations, “Agape” mission and “My Home”

charitable foundation, headed by Olga Pronina, started praying about the Mentorship Project in Kherson…

ONE HOPE Project has started its activities in Kiev in 2009 with the support of city

Office of children’s services. The Project directed by Pavel Gladchenko is aimed at working with

orphans and children deprived of parental care. The main objective of the Project is socialization

of children from orphanages and finding a mentor (foster caretaker) for them.

… For over 6 months there were activities aimed at developing mentorship,

presentations in more than 10 churches, informational meetings with people interested,

interviews with a psychologist, signing a contract with the regional administration

and prayer meetings in Kherson region.

And on November 30, a training for preparation of the first ten future mentors started.

Among them there was the regional bishop of Baptist Churches Union Sergey Turkach,

co-founder of “My Home”, a person who will serve as a shining example of ministering to orphans.

Our entire team, involved in the Project, hopes to develop mentorship in Kherson region and,

of course, we hope that with God’s help we can change the lives of orphans, and thus serve the Lord.
